"The Clearwater County Sheriff’s Office Staff and dive team would like to express our appreciation to Evelyn Kaide and Stephanie Sweener of The Guide Shop and to Mike, Lynn, and Shellie McCarthy for what they did after the boating / drowning accident in the Clearwater River on May 17, 2003. Mike and Lynn McCarthy provided a boat to transport the divers to and from the site while the search was being conducted. Shellie McCarthy, Evelyn Kaide, and Stephanie Sweener provided food and drinks, as well as a propane heater for the rescuers to warm up by, as the water was extremely cold.

Shortly after the boating accident Evelyn & Stephanie provided boats to help in the search. They provided food, drinks and a propane heater to help divers as they searched the following day. Recognition plaques were presented to Evelyn and Stephanie by Sgt. Randy Herman, Clearwater County Sheriff's Department, during Orofino Kiwanis Club meeting June 17, 2003.
