Clearwater Drifter Guides
Will Burks recently joined Evelyn's outfit and has established himself as a dependable and hard-working guide. Having grown up in Idaho, he became passionate about Idaho's rivers, fishing, and steelhead at a young age. Will's summer months are spent Smokejumping out of Missoula, MT, then returning to Idaho for steelhead season in the fall. In his free time he enjoys hunting, fly fishing, whitewater sports, and can be found on the Clearwater and Grande Ronde rivers all winter long.
Thad Ledgerwood
resides in Riggins, Idaho with three children and a great wife of 25 years. Thad has been fishing with the guide shop since 2000. When the season on the Clearwater is over Thad keeps rowing the white water on the Salmon river, including multi-day trips and bass fishing. By Trade, he is an interior architect and woodworker specializing in stair systems. Thad always sets time aside to be Mr. Mom for his kids, and skis in the winter months.
Kip Fry lives in Lenore, Idaho. He has guided for Evelyn for over 27 years. Kip grew up hunting and fishing, and when the opportunity came, he decided to make a career out of fishing. He guides full-time, whether it is Steelhead and Salmon fishing on the river, or chasing Kokanee up on the Reservoir. Kip is an avid angler be it with fly or conventional tackle. His passion for fishing always equips him with a positive outlook and a timely tale. When not guiding he spends much of his time fishing or hunting.
Greg Mahorney resides in Kamiah with his two sons, William and Ian. Greg has been guiding for Evelyn for 16 years. His father introduced him to fishing at the age of 5; he still recalls sitting on the dock fishing for perch. Outside of guiding, Greg is a chef and enjoys hunting, baseball, and gardening.
John Parker lives in McCall, Idaho and just recently became engaged to Amy Klingler. He has guided for Evelyn for 10 years. He grew up hunting and fishing with his Dad. His love for fishing got him into guiding. Outside of fishing he has a natural talent for woodworking, and owns his own business, specializing in custom woodworking and remodels. So when he's not on the water you may find him remodeling a kitchen or bathroom.
Matt Bettis is a big water boater from Riggins, Idaho. He is the father of four, and has been married to the same beautiful woman for more than 30 years. When he is not helping guests land trophy steelhead and salmon for The Guide Shop, Matt can be found running whitewater on the Salmon river or making custom cymbals for some of the top drummers around the world.
