2014 Fall - Fish Report
November 28, 2014
Had a very cold front and fish were not moving to fast. It has warmed up and the fishing is great. The Steelhead are in very good shape now. The upper river has some ice dams and are not navigable, some ramps up river are frozen over. The ice dam at Richardson has broken up from the warm weather so be ware of large floating ice.
November 17, 2014
The weather has chilled up the Clearwater River. Upper river has floating ice and boat ramps are iced over. Below the Dworshak dam the water is running around 40 degrees. Fishing real good. The weather forecast calls for snow and rain in the future. It has warmed up some now in the 20 to 30s has been the daily outside temps still really cold on the river. Please be courteous at the boat ramps and leave enough room for others to turn around and back down the ramps. Not too many Coho has been caught in the last week.
October 26, 2014
fish report for Oct 26: It has been raininng the last few days but the clarity of the river is great. The water has come up some but remains steelhead green. Bait use by the guides are: blue and
green plugs, diving sand shrimp and eggs. The bank fisherman are using jigs and bait shrimp. The best jigs are the black, red and pink ones.
Steelhead
Steelhead season began August 1, 2014 in the lower Clearwater River (downstream of Memorial Bridge)
This season was better than average for fly fishing. The lower river fished really well without a lot of pressure on the river. Fishing up river, became good around the 1st part of October, when the water temperature dropped and fish started to move up.
Convientional fishing was average for the season. Most fish ran between 8-14 pounds, with some 18-20 pounders. Catching was good, but sometimes it was hard to locate a clipped fish.
Fall Chinook

Spring Chinook
Salmon Season begin End of April 2015 on the Clearwater River drainage. The daily limit is four Chinook, as of June 2nd only one adult (24 or more inches long).Pending New Regulations
